Nagarkot: - Nagarkot is a popular tourist destination for panoramic views of the great Himalayas and surrounding rolling green hills and valleys. There are world-class hotels and restaurants. The Everest view tour is a common attraction for all to view Mount Everest to the far east. Located at an altitude of 2099m, Nagarkot is the best place for a beautiful sunrise.

Phulchoki: - Phulchoki is the tallest hilltop among the surrounding hills of the valley. It is a popular destination for bird watching where some 250-bird species have been noticed. Beside bird watching Phulchoki is also popular for rich vegetation and rare wildlife. Phulchoki is the most popular destination for a day hike trip.

Kakani: - To the northwest of Kathmandu Valley, Kakani is the best place for the skyline view of Gaurisankar, Langtang, Ganesh, Manslu, Himalchuli Himal and many others. A one-hour drive from Kathmandu to the hilltop, Kakani is a pristine hill station.

Nagarjun: - On the west side of the valley Nagarjun is rich in vegetation and wildlife. The hill track is perfect for mountain biking. The summer palace of the royal family is located here.

Shivapuri:- On the north of the valley, Shivapuri is a beautiful hill sitting among the surrounding hills. It is the main source of water for the Kathmandu Valley. Dhulikhel: - Dhulikhel is another famous tourist destination of Nepal. It lies on the way to the Tibet border 60km east from Kathmandu . There are very comfortable hotels and lodges.
